Iowa Youth Sports Initiative
MAKING BETTER ATHLETES, BETTER PEOPLEOur Story
Iowa Youth Sports Initiative was founded in 2015 based on the principles of national non-profit Positive Coaching Alliance which develops “Better Athletes, Better People”. IYSI was founded by Nancy Justis who supports the mission of PCA and hopes to make the competitive sports experience fun and healthy and complete with life learning lessons for Iowa’s youth and the other groups involved in youth sports.
IYSI provides live group workshops and online courses and seminars by experts in the field of youth sports.
“As a former athlete, I know how rewarding competitive sports can be, not just for the athlete, but for parents, coaches and fans,” Justis said. “However, the youth sports environment has changed dramatically since I was competing, not all for the good. IYSI is working to keep the experience a positive one for all involved.”
